Condition at a Glance
Facial veins are tiny, broken blood vessels. They come from a variety of sources, such as sun damage, skin trauma, genetics, birthmarks, rosacea and the natural aging process. Facial veins, or “spider” veins show on the sides of the nose, across the cheeks and chin and vary in size, shape. “Spider” veins also occur on other areas of the body, most commonly the legs.
How Do I Treat This?
Laser energy causes the damaged vessels to collapse without affecting the surrounding tissues. The result is the veins disappear.
What else do I need to know?
More than one session may be required, depending on the number of veins.
Individuals receiving treatment should always wear sunblock if going into the sun and avoid sun exposure which can retrigger pigmentation. Your consultant can assist you in choosing an effective block that is easy to wear.
